Under field conditions, wheat (Triticum
aestivum) is the only host. Recently barley (Hordeum vuigare)
has been recorded also as a host, though a poor one1. T.
spelta and T, dicoccum and rye are recorded as susceptible11*16*22.
T. compactum is also recorded as susceptible17.
Amongst grasses, Aegilops sp. is highly susceptible20.
